Silverstone Test

February 28th, 2011 by alisonpepler.

Well what can I say. 3 crazy days of stripping, re-building and wrapping. But it was worth it. We arrived at silverstone with 3 of the smart race cars foa sunday test. All with dry weather tyres and set up. But as to be expected it rained and rained. We changed the set up of the cars as quick as we could and got 2 of them out on track. The re-built one was testing the new suspension and the red and white one was testing the new race map. Both cars worked very well and we was impressed with the improvements in the relative areas of the cars. The suspension that has been made for us by Gaz is superb, the cars sits much lower and the springs have been improved. The new Map is now making full use of the engine and turbo and giving extra straight line speed and more torque out of the slower corners. We had about 6 different drivers who all had input into different areas of the car and between came up with a great set-up, Rob, Eddie and James changed set up a few times and by the end of the day he had the car very well balanced, More information to follow.
